What does communication with Deep space look like?

NASA's Deep Space Network lives at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where all mission communications are routed to and from NASA. I joined their team to develop The Pulse, a permanent installation at JPL that visualizes real-time data streaming through the network. At any given time, visitors and employees can see the volume and flow of data to individual spacecraft.
